Imereti Region is a western Georgian region. Kutaisi is the biggest and oldest city in this region. The magnificent monuments of Imereti are Bagrati Cathedral, built in 1005 and Gelati Cathedral, built in the 12th century– both of them are UNESCO world heritages sites. You can visit Sataplia Nature Reserve close to Kutaisi. Here you can find preserved dinosaur footprints and a beautiful cave complex featuring numerous stalactites and stalagmites. Besides, the historical monuments and ancient places there are popular health resorts Sairme and Tskaltubo there, where people from all over the world come for medical treatment and the mineral and thermal springs flow in the territory of these resorts.
